Following the closure of the laminations business of MMG GB Ltd (formerly known as Linton and Hirst) of Swindon, Wiltshire at the end of 2003 the tools to produce the nickel laminations were purchased by Magnetic Metals Corporation, headquartered in Camden, New Jersey, USA. These also included the tools that had been acquired by MMG Linton & Hirst from Telmag Magnetic Components of Hamilton, Lanarkshire.
L&H components ltd was formed in August 2004 as the exclusive European distributor for Magnetic Metals, supplying magnetic components, including nickel-iron and silicon laminations, toroidal cores, and sub assemblies.
Magnetic Metals ceased their lamination manufacturing operations in 2016 and L&H components ltd partnered with Electro Magnetic Products (EMP) (Moorestown, New Jersey, USA) and the Thomson Lamination Company (Maple Shade, New Jersey, USA) to continue to supply both transformer and motor laminations.
2018 saw a further change when the ring core/transformer winding plant in Nogales, Mexico was sold to CA Spalding of Bensalem, Pennsylvania, USA. We continue to supply products from the Nogales factory as, without interruption, we became a distributor for C A Spalding.
In addition we have formed partnerships to produce prototype and obsolete components by laser cutting/welding or chemi-etching.
We are also the European agents for LH Industries of Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA who produce world leading progressive carbide dies.
